HUBBARD EXPERIENCE Day Camp

ATHLETIC FACILITIES
Camp will be held at GMU’s state-of-the-art athletic facilities, which consist of both grass and field-turf fields. There will be easy access to the fields with plenty of parking for drop and pick-up.

CAMP DESCRIPTION
Young players of all positions will be able to learn in a controlled environment, which stresses the basic fundamental skills. The drills will progress during the week to challenge each player and to make sure every camper leaves camp with better skills and more confidence. Afternoon scrimmages will provide a fun environment to use new skills and compete in game-like conditions. Fun and camper safety are top priorities.

LUNCH
Campers will bring their own lunches and drinks for lunch break (12-1 pm.) There will be plenty of water available during camp and lunch, and coolers will also be available to keep lunches cool. Campers will have several water breaks throughout the day during which they can eat any snacks, fruit, or nutrition bars that they bring.

AGE GROUPS
Campers will be broken up into the following age groups: 8-10, 11-12, 13-14 (based on age as of June 27, 2010.) Campers who would like to play with an older age group will do so after an evaluation the first day of camp and if coaches deem it appropriate.

Hubbard Specialty Shooting Camp--Directed by Jesse Hubbard
Wilson High School, Washington, DC
July 7-8, 2010 (4:30pm-6:30pm)
For Boys, Rising 5th Grade and Up

ATHLETIC FACILITIES
Camp will be held at Wilson High School's state-of-the-art field turf stadium. Wilson is conveniently located in the Tenleytown section of Northwest Washington, DC.

CAMP DESCRIPTION
Shooting is part mental and part physical, both an art and a science. Jesse Hubbard’s Specialty Shooting Camp will emphasize both the fundamental techniques of shooting and the mental aspect of how to outthink goalies. Campers will be put through drills that stress the proper form and mechanics. The camp will progress to full speed dodging and shooting live against goalies. Shooters will receive individual instruction and will be encouraged to experiment with new types of shots. The small, intimate coaching environment will allow for each shooter to ask questions and get plenty of repetitions. This camp is designed for experienced offensive players only (attackmen and midfielders). Advanced techniques will be covered. You will leave camp with better shooting ability and more knowledge about how to create and maximize scoring chances. 

Limited Enrollment
Camp will be limited to 30 shooters to ensure individual attention and to provide plenty of repetitions during drills. Please bring full equipment to camp.

Freebies
Each camper will receive a free camp jersey and camp t-shirt, as well as an evaluation form with written tips and advice on how to improve individual skills.

Hubbard Specialty Goalie Camp--Directed by Harry Alford

It is often said that the goalie is the most important position of the field. Dominant goalies win games and championships. Directed by former University of Maryland All-American Goalie, Harry Alford, the Hubbard Specialty Goalie Camp will emphasize both the fundamental saving techniques and the mental aspect of how to anticipate what shooters will do. Campers will be put through drills that stress the proper form and mechanics. The camp will progress to taking shots from shooters in a controlled environment. The small, intimate coaching environment will allow for each goalie to ask questions and get plenty of repetitions. This camp is designed for experienced goalies only. Advanced techniques will be covered. You will leave camp with better technique and more confidence in the goal.

Limited Enrollment
Camp will be limited to 10 goalies to ensure individual attention and to provide plenty of repetitions during drills.

HUBBARD EXPERIENCE Overnight/Extended Day Camp

ATHLETIC FACILITIES
Episcopal has first-class athletic facilities, which are centrally located on its intimate campus within a short walking distance from the dorms and dining hall. Multiple grass and field-turf fields will be used throughout camp. All campers will be able to experience playing in the Hummel Bowl Sports Stadium, the varsity football and lacrosse stadium.

HOUSING AND DINING FACILITIES
The dorms are air-conditioned, and there will be free laundry facilities on each floor of the dorms (detergent can be purchased from vending machines.) Each floor will have a common area with big screen HD TV’s with cable and couches for relaxation in between sessions and in the evenings. Ping-pong tables and foosball tables will be available for campers. The full-service dining facilities will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner (lunch and dinner for extended day campers.) There will also be free nightly snacks provided by Episcopal.

CAMP DESCRIPTION
Camp will consist of a fun, organized environment that will allow players of all positions to improve their fundamental skills and to challenge themselves in competitive situations. Positional drills and team-oriented drills will be used to improve both physical skill level as well as the “lacrosse IQ” of each player. Players will be taught how to react quickly to various game-like situations and will be shown how to make the most intelligent decisions in these situations. Each camper will leave camp a better and smarter lacrosse player.
